Start with the operating gap
A creator selling a download or a subscription needs more than a checkout page. The buyer must receive the correct file or entitlement, understand what is included and have a usable recovery route when payment, access or a refund changes. Start with one product and define delivery before adding more product types.
Keep the category boundary visible
A storefront is where an offer is purchased. A print-on-demand provider makes and fulfills a physical item. An email platform communicates with an audience. One provider may cover several parts, but a purchase, a production instruction and a marketing preference remain separate records with different completion conditions.
The record to inspect

| Part of the work | Evidence needed | Failure to rehearse |
|---|---|---|
| Offer | Product version, license or entitlement and fulfillment owner | An ambiguous promise about future updates |
| Payment | The actual payment state and unique transaction reference | An incomplete payment grants a duplicate entitlement |
| Delivery | The right file or access reaches the intended buyer | A confirmation email is mistaken for successful access |
| Recovery | A named owner can correct access and reconcile a refund | Revoked access or a failed download has no support route |
A proposed small pilot
Use a hypothetical digital guide with a controlled file version and a test payment route supported by the actual account. Sellfy is a storefront research candidate. Review actual payment-provider, product and location conditions separately from the educational exercise.
- Write exactly what the buyer receives and how delivery is completed.
- Prepare a permitted test product and the expected order fields.
- Test checkout, access and the buyer-facing instructions.
- Rehearse a payment failure, repeat delivery request and updated file version.
- Confirm the effect of a refund, cancellation or subscription change on the recorded entitlement.
When to stop
Pause if the team cannot link payment to the correct delivery state, control an obsolete file or explain what a subscription cancellation changes. Do not publish product rights or tax statements that the operator has not established.
What to measure and cost
Record successful access, failed deliveries, repeat support requests and recovery effort. Include payment fees, storefront limits, file delivery, fulfillment and support time in the cost comparison. Use a separate preference record for promotional email.
These commerce areas require inputs about products, stores, orders, inventory, destinations or creative work. The eight-category sales fit finder does not assess those conditions. Use the relevant planning record and verify the actual account, territory and current capabilities directly.
