1. Describe the work
Choose the job, customer, starting signal and information gap. Add volume, decision time, the current record, owner, contact-basis status, transfer method and budget. Select existing categories so the tool can identify overlap.
2. Check the boundaries
The published rules separate social conversations from business-account research, issue resolution from promotion and subscribers from outbound sales. Missing ownership, unknown contact basis and low-volume economics can lead to a process-first result. Existing capability can lead to consolidate first.
3. Research a category, then a provider
Your result includes a primary category, exclusions, requirements, implementation checks and a 30-day pilot. Provider profiles are independent desk research with dated official sources. Extra phone, editing, page or presentation needs only surface when you explicitly select those tasks. Inventory, store offers, shipping and other commerce areas use the separate commerce desk and planning records; the eight-category questionnaire does not assess those conditions.
4. Keep the decision useful
Download a JSON brief or print the result. Saving a draft is optional and happens only on your browser. No email, contacts or CRM connection is required. The result is a planning model, not a validated prediction of business outcomes.
What to do with the exported brief
- Check the inputs and rule version before sharing the file with a colleague.
- Use the category and exclusions to narrow the requirements, rather than treating a profile as a purchase instruction.
- Take the acceptance case, exception and cost questions to the current-tool owner or vendor.
- Record what was actually observed during the pilot, including failures and recovery.
Examples and your own assessment
Every workflow example links to a complete designed input set in the fit finder. You can review and edit it, or start with a blank assessment. Designed examples, browser tests and downloads are not counted or described as actual customer outcomes. No production analytics collector is active in this edition.
