Name what the evidence can establish
A creative reference can show a visible hook, format or offer at a recorded time. An authorized marketplace report can show the recorded account metrics under its own definitions. Neither source by itself establishes why an outcome happened. A useful brief labels observation, inference and a proposed test separately.

| Question | Creative research | Marketplace analytics |
|---|---|---|
| Source | Observed external ads and saved references | Authorized marketplace, store or ad-account records |
| Useful question | Which message or format should we investigate? | What changed in the defined operating metrics? |
| Evidence to retain | Source link, observed fields and capture date | Account, identifiers, window, metric definition and reconciliation |
| Unsupported shortcut | Visible ad means profitable ad | A correlation proves the cause of a sales change |
Connect the jobs through a testable hypothesis
A team observes several reference ads explaining a product use case. It writes an original creative hypothesis and later evaluates its own campaign under recorded conditions. Marketplace and advertising data may support that later evaluation after reconciliation. The external references remain inspiration evidence rather than the team’s performance results.
Research the actual gap
- Use Atria when the missing job is a sourced creative reference and reviewable brief.
- Use DataHawk when the missing job is access to and interpretation of authorized marketplace data.
- Check whether existing exports and a clear metric definition solve the question first.
- Record rights, access permissions, uncertainty and the owner of the next decision.
