What the official sources establish

Who should investigate it
A team maintaining a documented subscriber audience, useful continuing content and a preference process.
Investigate the subscriber lifecycle, not a researched cold-contact list. Check whether the existing email system can already handle the required sequence and audience.
Where the fit stops
Account research and newsletter subscription are different inputs. Do not use a researched list as a subscriber audience.
- An audience without a documented signup source and purpose.
- A purchased or researched list treated as newsletter subscribers.
- A support backlog that needs individual case resolution.
Relevant capability areas: Email lifecycle. A product can span several categories; the task is still evaluated separately.
Proposed subscriber pilot
Use a small controlled audience with documented test signup records. A useful sample contains a new subscriber, a changed preference and a record that must stop receiving the relevant communication. The content should fulfill the signup purpose rather than inventing a sales need.
- Write the signup purpose, source fields and intended continuing content.
- Prepare a welcome message and the specific audience condition that changes the next step.
- Test preference changes and unsubscribe behavior across the actual connected records.
- Assign reply handling and inspect the export before expanding.

| Record | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Signup source and purpose | Explains why the person enters this lifecycle |
| Preference and exclusion state | Controls later communication rather than only the next send |
| Content owner and reply route | Makes the workflow maintainable after setup |
| Observed action | Keeps clicks or deliveries separate from customer outcomes |
Keep the category boundary visible
A social resource delivery can offer a separate email signup, but the resource request is not itself a subscription. Likewise, account research belongs in a business-data review until an appropriate communication purpose is established. Compare the existing email stack before adding overlapping automation.
Questions to take to the vendor
- Can you demonstrate the signup source for a sample of subscribers?
- How are preference changes and unsubscribes reflected in the record?
- What changes with audience size, sending volume and automation needs?
What belongs in the cost check
- Current audience definition, billing term, sending allowances and required automation features.
- Preference handling, import/export behavior and any integration work.
- Content production, reply handling and list-review time.
No price table or universal plan entitlement is published here. Obtain the current quote for the actual account, territory, billing term and actions; include operator time and recovery work.
Before starting a trial
Write the capability missing from the current setup, a representative input, an observable success condition and a stopping rule. Compare the same case in the existing process. Keep the source, owner and exception visible, and use only authorized or clearly marked test material.
