What the official sources establish
Dated product claims appear after the current review window is checked.
Who should investigate it
Product businesses with actual materials, bills of materials, production responsibility and a stock-reconciliation requirement.
Investigate material, production and inventory coordination after a reliable SKU and bill-of-materials model exists.
Where the fit stops
A manufacturing requirement is different from CRM follow-up, a shipping label or outsourced print fulfillment.
- A team with no agreed component quantities or units.
- A merchant whose only missing task is buying parcel labels.
- A product model with unreviewed units or component quantities.
Relevant capability areas: Inventory & manufacturing. A product can span several categories; the task is still evaluated separately.
Reconcile one item from components to output
Use a hypothetical finished item containing two components. Establish the starting count, receipt, production commitment and expected output before inspecting software. No Katana production workflow has been tested by Sales Fit Lab.
- Agree SKU identities, units and the reviewed bill of materials.
- Record a small starting stock count with its evidence.
- Rehearse a production order and one missing component.
- Complete only part of the quantity and inspect the remaining work.
- Reconcile consumed material, finished goods and any adjustment.
Explain the quantity rather than trusting a total

| Part | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|
| Material | Starting count, receipts, commitments and adjustment reason |
| Production | Order identity, bill-of-materials version and responsible operator |
| Completion | Finished quantity, unresolved work and reconciliation |
Stop when the units stop making sense
Pause if quantities cannot be reconciled or a bill-of-materials change has no effective scope. Compare shortages discovered after commitment, stock discrepancies and correction effort. Check the actual account workflow instead of assuming a universal material-deduction time.
Questions to take to the vendor
- Can the operator reconcile one finished product and its components?
- Which record controls commitments, expected stock and completed production?
- What required manufacturing, location and connection capabilities are included?
What belongs in the cost check
- Confirm manufacturing, users, locations and required connections.
- Include bill-of-materials preparation, unit conversion and starting-stock cleanup.
- Budget ongoing reconciliation and exception ownership.
No price table or universal plan entitlement is published here. Obtain the current quote for the actual account, territory, billing term and actions; include operator time and recovery work.
Before starting a trial
Write the capability missing from the current setup, a representative input, an observable success condition and a stopping rule. Compare the same case in the existing process. Keep the source, owner and exception visible, and use only authorized or clearly marked test material.
